I remember watching on TV in India several times where farmers trash their excessive tomatoes with crushers when there is excessive produce. So what is the point of doing that? Can’t you, farmers, make or sell tomato pickles to someone who makes them profit well? This tomato pickle can be stored for over a year, and all parties can earn good money. Other options are available for Tomato, tomato puree, or canned tomatoes.
The same logic applies to all the excess produce during seasons.
